About Chillicothe
Chillicothe emerged along the Scioto River in 1796 when Revolutionary War veteran Nathaniel Massie envisioned a capital city for the new frontier state of Ohio. From 1800-1810 and 1812-1816, Chillicothe served as the capital before moving to Columbus, more centrally located.
